48 Hour Game Design
Back in the day, I had my share of entering computer coding events. I was young, ambitious, and loved a challenge. Computers were fairly new, with the Apple II and Commodore series being the mainstream models on the market. Walking into a room with a bunch of other geeks not knowing what was going to be thrown at you was nerve-racking, but in the end you just sat down and did your best. You weren't in competition with the other geeks; you were in competition with yourself.
Nowadays, gaming is my thing. I don't write them, but I do play them. Lots of them. I always wondered what it would be like to be on a dev team, and the below article is a very good read on what goes on with the design process, but in a 48 hour race against other teams, it can get hairy.
