Coop Missions

TACP map editors have been hard at work in IL2: 1946! The first two (of hopefully many to come) fictional coop missions created in the FMB and HSFX 5 are available in the downloads section. These missions feature detailed bases and aerodromes, marked runways, and plenty of dynamic objects to bring the missions to life. Theater is set in the central Alps region.
Their Finest Hour HD
I managed to figure out the HD encoding settings with some help from Meggadeath. Here is the re-render of my recent machinima.
TACP/DMM ArmA 2:Free Server
Tactical Playground, in partnership with DMM Clan now have an Arma2: Free server running a custom Domination map. This is the original stock map with some customization for added vehicles, reserved aircraft for members, and custom server settings. Thanks to our favorite Finn, Heggis, for figuring out the details to make the custom map work. You can join the server by searching for it alphabetically, or using a filter for DMM or TACP.

Cliffs of Dover!
Well, it is official. TACP is running IL2: Cliffs of Dover. The beast is still in a messy state, but slowly we are getting used to the quirky bugs and finding work-arounds. The game really is a work of beauty, and we are looking forward to the developers polishing it up to what it should be. Please visit the IL2 Forums for detailed info on simulation play, documentation, startup procedures, and all kinds of goodness!
48 Hour Game Design
Back in the day, I had my share of entering computer coding events. I was young, ambitious, and loved a challenge. Computers were fairly new, with the Apple II and Commodore series being the mainstream models on the market. Walking into a room with a bunch of other geeks not knowing what was going to be thrown at you was nerve-racking, but in the end you just sat down and did your best. You weren't in competition with the other geeks; you were in competition with yourself.
Not Cool, Bethesda... Not Cool!
Bethesda Software has filed a suit against the publisher Mojang, for allegedly infringing on their word 'scrolls'. The following article is from ArsTechnica, and the original can be read HERE.
ZeniMax Media publishes a series of role-playing games called The Elder Scrolls, developed by Bethesda Software; the fifth such game, Skyrim, will be released this November. Mojang, the indie studio behind Minecraft, is currently developing a collectible card-style game called Scrolls. Confused by the similarity between "The Elder Scrolls" and "Scrolls"? No? Well, ZeniMax believes that you and
A C-17 Sim Experience
In 2009 I had the pleasure of coaching my son's soccer team with an outstanding individual, a certain United States Air Force Colonel. (I am leaving his name out since he is a pretty important man around these parts). I knew he was an accomplished aviator so I approached him during one of the practices and asked if it was possible these days to get some stick time in the C-17 simulator at the base. With the wars overseas I knew it was going to be a challenge. To my surprise, he agreed. One year later, that experience is on the books!
